Brighten Your Day

Brighten Your Day is a new social app experience designed to bring more uplifting news to your mobile devices (we know...this might be an uphill battle, but we think it’s worth a try). BYD allows users from around the world to curate and post articles that are uplifting, inspiring, and that would, well, brighten someone’s day!

Users can upvote or downvote any post. If a post receives a poor ranking (bad downvote to upvote ratio), it will get buried. Ideally, polarizing, divisive, or just plain s****y posts will not survive long in this experience. Users are limited to only sharing URLs (sorry, but there are plenty of other places to share selfies and/or stories about how awesome you are). Also, every post and every profile is public. We want the positive side of humanity to shine through for a change, so please act like decent human beings.

Hopefully, BYD can become part of your daily routine...start your morning with a smile on your face and revive your faith in humanity. Or just turn on our animal or baby filters and awaken your inner sense of unconditionality that’s probably been stomped out by “social media.”

Brighten Your Day = “BYD” (let’s see if we can make this a verb, noun, AND adjective)
Use categories to filter your feeds and receive the stories you’re most interested in (you’ll notice there are no political or religious categories...that’s intentional)
Follow friends and others whom you share interests with
Search for BYDs by category, username, or keywords (#’s aren’t needed anymore)
Copy URLs to your clipboard, open the app and begin a post automatically (thanks to our brilliant programmers!)
You can still block users in case they didn’t read and/or comprehend what this experience is supposed to be about
No direct messaging...not sure if this will enhance the experience yet

If dystopia is still your thing, then you’re probably content without this app.
