Bullerkollen

Bullerkollen is an indicative sound level meter for iOS that turns your phone's built-in microphone into a practical measurement tool for noise, acoustics and vibration.

SOUND AND NOISE MEASUREMENT
Measure with A- and C-weighting according to IEC 61672-1. The app calculates LAeq, LAFmax, LCeq, LCpeak, LASmax, LAFmin, L10, L50, L90 and LAE (SEL) in real time. Choose measurement duration (5–60 seconds) and save results with a name and notes.

1/3-OCTAVE SPECTRUM
View A-weighted equivalent level per 1/3-octave band (20 Hz–16 kHz) in a clear bar chart. Perfect for identifying the frequency content of a noise source.

24-HOUR LOG
Measure and log LAeq and LAFmax continuously for as long as you need — hours or entire nights. Choose resolution (1 second to 15 minutes) and export a PDF report directly in the app. Ideal for night-time measurements and longer monitoring sessions.

INDICATIVE INSULATION SCREENING
Estimate the sound insulation of a wall or floor (DnT and R') as a single-number value according to ISO 717-1. Use a Bluetooth speaker as the source and measure in source and receiver rooms in five steps. Import reverberation time from Akustikkollen or enter
manually.

VIBRATION METER
Measure linear acceleration (m/s²) using the phone's accelerometer. Shows live RMS, measurement RMS per axis (X/Y/Z) and comfort class according to ISO 2631-1 — indicative screening of whole-body vibration.

CALIBRATION
• Device profiles for known phone models (based on NIOSH data)
• Calibration against a reference sound level meter
• Manual dB offset
• Support for external measurement microphones with calibration curve (.cal / .csv)

BBR COMPARISON
Compare measurement results against Swedish Public Health Agency guidelines (FoHMFS 2014:13) for bedrooms and other rooms — directly after each measurement.

SAVE & EXPORT
All measurement history is stored locally. Export individual measurements as CSV. 24-hour logs and insulation measurements export as PDF reports.

Bullerkollen is an indicative meter and does not meet the requirements of SS-EN 61672-1 for Class 1 or Class 2 sound level meters. Do not use this app as the basis for regulatory reports or inspection protocols — use a calibrated meter and consult an acoustics
professional when required.
