NEW IN 2.0: KID PHONES
Give each kid their own iPhone instead of sharing one family device. Pair it by scanning a QR code, and your kid can see their chores and balance and mark chores done right from their own phone. The two devices sync automatically whenever they're near each other with BusyHive open - still no account and no internet required. Kid phones are entirely optional, and BusyHive still works the original way, on one shared iPad, if that's what your family prefers.
HOW IT WORKS
- Add each kid and the chores they're responsible for
- Set a dollar reward for each chore, one-time or repeating
- Kids mark chores done, with an optional photo taken with the camera or chosen from their library, as proof of what "done" looks like
- Balances update automatically, and a full history tracks every completion and payout
WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE BUSYHIVE
- All data - kids, chores, balances, history, photos - stays on your own devices, synced device-to-device with no server in between
- No accounts, no sign-ups, no tracking, no ads
- Fast and responsive: this is a from-scratch native rewrite, not a web wrapper
- Optional cooldowns stop the same chore being marked done twice in a row
- Export a full backup anytime and restore it on a new device, so you never lose your family's history
BUILT FROM PARENT FEEDBACK
BusyHive was built after reading hundreds of reviews from parents frustrated with other chore apps: broken sync, subscriptions, and accounts that added complexity without adding value. Version 2.0 carries that same philosophy into a complete native rewrite, adding the option to give each kid their own phone without giving up the local-first approach that got us here.
