Description
Campus2030 – Explore KTH in Augmented Reality
Campus2030 is a location-based augmented reality experience designed for the KTH campus in Stockholm, Sweden. The app transforms the physical campus into a digital learning environment where users can explore research, infrastructure, and innovation through interactive AR experiences. This app demonstrates how a digital twin can represent real-world infrastructure using digital models and real data. The platform allows users to explore and experience campus environments in new ways while linking digital information with the physical world.
Key Features:
Augmented Reality Experiences
Discover digital content placed around the KTH campus. View 3D models, visualizations, and research-related content directly in the real world through your device using AR.
Location-Based Quizzes
Participate in interactive quizzes tied to specific locations on campus. These quizzes are created and uploaded by KTH students and teachers through the Campus2030 platform, allowing them to design educational experiences that encourage exploration of the campus while testing knowledge in real-world contexts.
Interactive Map Content
Explore content placed across the campus map by KTH students and teachers. Content uploaded through the Campus2030 web portal appears at specific locations, where users can view 3D models, videos, holograms, images, and other interactive elements in augmented reality when visiting the corresponding place on campus. For example you can experience Reaktorhallen, originally the site of Sweden’s first nuclear reactor and see the underground reactor hall without physically entering it. Head to the Rector’s Office building to see a hologram of the university’s President. Explore information hotspots related to the RCV-E car (Research Concept Vehicle), a platform for developing future sustainable and electric mobility solutions. Learn about road damage and how self-driving cars can reduce rutting and general wear on roads. Experience a visualization of Ad-Eye, a testbed for Automated Driving (AD) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
Theses
Visit a designated area on campus to explore theses written by KTH students. In this area, selected student theses are presented as interactive content, allowing visitors to discover research projects and academic work through digital visualizations and augmented reality.
