CekOri (from an Indonesian term meaning: “Check if Original”) is an app and ecosystem to help consumers trace the authenticity of a product bearing CekOri QR code.

CekOri uses an ingenious 2 Factor Authentication Quasi Blockchain process methodology to determine a product’s authenticity.

Traditional authentication methods in the market rely on a proprietary hologram sticker code to prove a product’s authenticity. These systems authenticate the stickers themselves but not necessarily the product’s authenticity itself. An authentic hologram sticker code attached to a tampered product will result in the tampered product being stated as authentic. Not to mention any hologram technology in the market are still prone to counterfeits.

CekOri lets you check authenticity of the product before you buy and verify the contents after your purchase. You can even get the key product information when you scan the packaging of your goods at the store so you know exactly what you’re getting.

How does CekOri Work?

CekOri involves 2 quick steps:
1. Scan the packaging QR code. This will give you the complete product information and attributes coming from the manufacturer and proof that the scanned product is indeed registered in the brand manufacturer database. This is the first proof that this product is identified and registered in by the brand manufacturer. Most traditional authentication methods in the market do this with their proprietary hologram sticker code but it all stops there. Not CekOri!
2. CekOri raises the bar higher by introducing 2 Factor Authentication, in the form of a less visible second QR code (only accessible by the purchaser owning that particular product). Scanning this second QR code after opening the sealed packaging will further validate the product itself was not tampered or exchanged by checking unique pairing with the first QR on point 1 above. This establishes the first log of the product after it has been opened and will guarantee that you are the first person opening this packaging by pairing the two QR codes. Any deviation of this outcome will be shown as a notification to you, including when, where and by whom the first pairing of the particular product took place. In this case, you can report this suspicious variance with one click directly to the brand manufacturer from the CekOri app itself. No fiddling with forms, serial numbers, complain emails or contacting a customer call centers etc.

All you have to do is scan the two QR codes and in a few seconds, all 2 scans are uniquely recorded for time, location and who scans it. Privacy and access permissions are used for the sole purpose of authenticity of the particular product. Time and location information are only accessed during QR code scanning process. CekOri never keeps trace of a user’s whereabouts outside of the function of CekOri’s authentication to protect user’s privacy.

All authenticity scan pairing results are recorded in each user’s transaction history in the app for ease of access of particular product’s information, attributes as well as warranty period (where applicable).

CekOri determines authenticity of a product with a unique end to end process from the product creation/manufacturing (as its origin) up to its sealed packaging (as its end process) before eventually reaching consumers.
