This app is a recommendation app compiled by the Women’s Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre of Durham (WMRCC). This app aims to recommend some key practices for employers to make efforts in recruiting, mentoring, and retaining members of ethnocultural, racialized, religious, 2SLGBTQIA, and BIPOC groups in employment.
Women’s Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre of Durham (WMRCC) project “Challenge Racism: What-To-Do Steps” aims to address barriers to employment for women, racialized, ethnocultural, religious, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQI+ and equity-seeking groups. This App is a resource for employers to make sure their employment practices, policies and procedures are kept in standard with diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights principles. This App is also a resource for employment seekers in bridging the gaps, breaking barriers, and referencing valuable insights on navigating discrimination, racism, gender-based inequalities and other forms of systemic oppressions in the workplace. It seeks to equip employment seekers to find empowering tools to gainful employment opportunities and successfully navigate their career trajectories. Through this App, users can connect with local groups within Durham Region, GTA, Ontario, within Canada and globally.
