Chess Clock: Board & Go Timer

The last game clock you'll ever download.

Chess Clock is a dedicated clock for chess, go, shogi and board games. Giant digits you can read from across the table. Every time control that actually exists. No ads, no account, and it works fully offline.

NEW IN 2.0
• Instant touch: the clock switches the moment your finger lands. Slap it like a real clock. A slap with several fingers counts as one move, never two.
• Visible delay: in simple delay a "delay 4" badge and a shrinking bar show why your main time is not running yet.
• Keep playing after a flag (US Chess rules): your opponent has to claim the win. If both flags fall, it is a draw, and the game summary records who fell first.
• Sunlight theme: black on white, the side to move inverted, bold digits and full screen brightness for outdoor games and bright halls.

TAP ANYWHERE
Your whole side of the screen is the button. No hunting for a tiny target while your flag is falling.

EVERY TIME CONTROL
• Fischer increment: time added after every move
• Bronstein delay: get back what you used, up to the increment
• Simple delay: your time runs only after the delay expires
• Japanese byo-yomi: periods that reset each move
• Canadian byo-yomi: a block of time for a set number of stones
• Hourglass: your time flows to your opponent
• Multi-stage controls: "40 moves in 90 minutes, then 30 minutes"
• Sudden death, and any combination of the above

25 presets are ready to play: bullet 1+0, blitz 3+2 and 5+3, rapid 10+5, classical 90+30, FIDE 40/90+30, US delay 5|d5, go, Canadian byo-yomi, shogi, hourglass, and turn timers for board, card, word and party games. Build and save your own in seconds.

BUILT FOR GO AND SHOGI
Japanese and Canadian byo-yomi done properly, with period counts, stone counts and an audible countdown for the last five seconds. Most clocks skip this. We started here.

2 TO 6 PLAYERS
Players sit around the table and the turn goes around with them. Reverse direction mid-game, knock out players who run out of time and keep playing, or give everyone a fixed time per turn. Perfect for board game night, not just duels.

PER-PLAYER HANDICAP
Give each player a different time control. Ideal for coaching, for teaching kids, and for uneven matchups.

READ IT ACROSS THE TABLE
Full-screen digits, each player's time turned to face them. Six themes: Modern, Retro LCD seven-segment, OLED Black, High Contrast, Wood Club and the new Sunlight.

SOUND AND HAPTICS
Two distinct tap tones, so you know who is on move without looking. Low-time warning, byo-yomi ticks, and a falling-flag buzzer. Turn it all off for a silent tournament hall.

GAME STATISTICS
Move counts, average and longest think, a think-time chart for every move, and your last 50 games in history. Share any result as one line of text.

ACCESSIBILITY
VoiceOver reads each player's time and state, and a double tap passes the move. Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion, and High Contrast and Sunlight themes.

HONEST SOFTWARE
No ads. No in-app purchases. No account. No tracking. It works fully offline, on a plane, in a park, in a tournament hall with no signal. The only time it goes online is a quick check for a newer version at launch.

Available in 49 languages, translated by hand.

Made for players who take the game seriously enough to want the clock to disappear.
