CirrhoCare

General Information:

CirrhoCare® is a novel, multi-modal monitoring system designed to manage decompensated cirrhosis patients in the community. Personalised algorithms assimilate data from multiple home-monitored, sensed and patient-personalised variables, and use this for assisted early diagnosis of cirrhosis complications – e.g. hepatic encephalopathy and ascites. and deliver therapeutic interventions to improve patient outcomes.

Intended Use:

CirrhoCare® is intended for monitoring and managing decompensated cirrhosis with assisted diagnosis, recommendations, and therapeutic interventions.

Indications for Use:

CirrhoCare® is intended for patients who are enrolled in the prescription therapy program.CirrhoCare® is intended for out-of-hospital specialist hepatology management follow-up of adult cirrhosis patients ages 18 and older. CirrhoCare® is intended to identify new preventable decompensation events [such as dehydration (acute kidney injury), new accumulation of ascites, infection or hepatic encephalopathy] for a healthcare provider to take immediate clinical action, allowing the opportunity for early outpatient-based interventions.

Important Safety Information:

Warnings: Do not use CirrhoCare® to communicate any urgent or emergent information to your clinician. CirrhoCare® does not include any features that can send emergency alerts to your clinician.

If you have a health emergency, immediately go to the nearest A & E (Accident & Emergency) or urgent care.

Use the guide on the App before using each device in the CirrhoCare healthkit.

Ensure devices are charged as necessary, and avoid mishandling the healthkit. Keep the healthkit away from heat and moisture to maintain optimal performance.CirrhoCare® is intended for active remote management for up to 3 months. A more standard medium-term outpatient clinical follow-up pathway can be resumed in patients who remain stable on CirrhoCare® for up to 3 months. For those who remain unstable or with signs of frequent new complications, management can be continued beyond 3 months.



Patient eligibility:

Patients aged 18 or older.

Should have access to an iOS smartphone with an active internet connection and be familiar with smartphone applications (apps).



General Information about the Safe and Effective Use of CirrhoCare:

You should only use CirrhoCare® if enrolled in a Cirrhosis treatment program. CirrhoCare® is meant to be used in conjunction with your standard treatment pathway. CirrhoCare® is not intended to reduce face-to-face time with your clinician.
