Clari Mentor: Smart Study Notes, Step-by-Step AI & Local Knowledge Base

Notes without structure get buried. Quick solvers without context don't teach. Clari Mentor is a focused study workspace that turns handwritten scratchpad, textbook snapshots, and difficult problems into organized Markdown notes, guided step-by-step by AI and stored securely on your own device.

Designed for middle school, high school, university STEM coursework, and independent research.

【Turn Paper & Photos into Clean Markdown】
• Photograph chalkboard notes, textbook problems, or handwritten calculations with your camera.
• Smart OCR recognizes text, diagrams, and math formulas, formatting them into standard LaTeX and clean Markdown.
• Search instantly across problem text, derivations, tags, and past mistakes using fast prefix and full-text filters.
• Keep question prompts, step-by-step solutions, and your personal reflections unified in one archive.

【Enhanced Notes: Visual Summary Cards】
• Turn long, complex derivations into clean, structured summary cards with one tap.
• Automatic formula derivation trees highlight core logic, givens, and critical steps at a glance.
• Choose from flexible card layouts (A4 handout, widescreen presentation, or compact study cards).
• Low-glare color palettes designed for long study sessions: Amber Notebook, Misty Harbor, Polar Archive, and Berry Cocoa.
• Knowledge Constellation: Map relationships between concepts with prerequisite, extension, and application links across your semester.

【Two-Column Reader & In-Text Annotations】
• Reader Mode (iPad & iPhone landscape): Browse your notebook index on the left while studying full solutions on the right, without jumping between screens.
• Smart Annotations: Highlight any formula, term, or confusing line to ask the AI for a targeted explanation.
• Add your own notes, flag common traps, and build contextual follow-up threads attached directly to the source text.

【Step-by-Step AI Tutoring (Not Just Answers)】
• Four-Phase Coaching: Operates systematically—Understand the Problem → Formulate a Plan → Execute → Reflect. The tutor verifies knowns and constraints before moving ahead.
• Stuck Detection: When you hit a roadblock, hints scale down to smaller clues rather than blurting out the final answer.
• Multi-Model Comparison: Compare explanations side-by-side across configured AI providers and save the clearer derivation into your note.
• Custom Coach Profiles: Build reusable AI tutoring personas adjusted for grade level, explanation style, and preferred depth.

【Progressive Flashcards & Review Scheduling】
• Tiered Reveal Slider: Review difficult questions with a 0% to 100% opacity slider. Drag slowly to reveal hints line by line, logging the exact point you recalled the concept.
• Spaced Repetition: Built-in Ebbinghaus curve algorithms schedule reviews at optimal intervals so you revisit key ideas right before memory fades.

【100% Local-First Privacy & BYO-Key Freedom】
• Complete Data Ownership: Your notes, questions, and study history stay on your local device and private iCloud.
• No accounts, no telemetry, and zero tracking.
• Bring Your Own Key (BYO-Key): Store private API keys (Gemini, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Claude) securely in the iOS Keychain.
• Portable Exports: Export notes to clean Markdown, formatted handouts, or print-ready high-resolution PDFs.

【Capture Anywhere & Mac Companion】
• Camera & Batch OCR: Quickly digitize multi-page assignments or reference materials.
• Clari Clip Extension: Push web articles and AI chat discussions straight into your notebook with one click.
• Clari Toolkit: Free Mac companion app for desktop management and archive imports.
