Clave: Metronome & Tuner

Clave is a metronome and tuner for practice and performance. It starts with the two things that matter most: a steady beat and accurate tuning.

METRONOME: THE BEAT DOESN'T DRIFT
Every beat is scheduled on the audio hardware clock, sample by sample, not by a software timer. Change the tempo and the new speed takes effect on the next beat: the pulse never stumbles mid-bar.

Pitch is measured with a high-resolution detector, not a zero-crossing guess, and then smoothed, so the needle settles on a note instead of jittering on a number.
· Over 30 instruments, grouped by family: guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin and banjo; violin, viola, cello and double bass; flute, oboe, English horn, bassoon, clarinet and saxophone; trumpet, cornet, horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba — each with its own detection range
· 30 preset tunings, plus custom string sets you can add, name and keep
· Seven temperaments: equal, just intonation, Pythagorean, quarter-comma meantone, Werckmeister III, Vallotti, and one of your own
· Transposition for transposing instruments, a capo offset, and per-string cent offsets for sweetened tunings
· String-by-string guidance: the target string is lit, the next one is picked for you, and TONE sounds the reference pitch
