Cook Captain

Cook Captain helps you coordinate a whole meal, from the first bit of prep to serving.

FOLLOW THE NEXT STEP
Keep ingredients and instructions beside the task you are doing. See what can start now, what is cooking, and what depends on another step.

KEEP THE WHOLE MEAL IN VIEW
Follow individual timers and the overall expected finish. Switch between a horizontal plan and a vertical timeline, zoom into the details, or hide completed steps.

ADJUST AS YOU COOK
Change a task's estimated duration and re-plan from now when things take longer. The overall timer keeps the expected time visible, including when you are running late. Timers are estimates: check that food is safely cooked before serving.

COOK ON YOUR OWN OR TOGETHER
Start a meal in Personal, or invite people to a private iCloud group. Assign tasks and follow the same meal on your own devices. iCloud is required for sharing and syncing; solo cooking works locally.

START YOUR WAY
Use a saved meal, enter your own steps, or get help from an assistant. Copy and paste works with your preferred assistant. Optional connected ChatGPT uses your own OpenAI API key, asks permission before sending, and may incur charges from OpenAI. An assistant is not required to cook.

FREE TO COOK
Cooking, timers and participation are free. Keep up to five saved meals for free. Cook Captain Premium is an optional one-time purchase for unlimited saved meals, with Family Sharing. No subscription.

Your meals stay on your device and, when enabled, in your private or shared iCloud data. There are no ads or tracking.
