Cordada – Rock Climbing

Cordada tells you when the rock grips.

This isn't another climbing guidebook. It's an instrument: it cross-references which way each wall actually faces — worked out from the terrain — with the sun and shade on it at that hour, the last few days of rain against how porous its rock type is, humidity, wind and the dew point. The result is the Friction Score, hour by hour, sector by sector. You'll know whether the early start is worth it, whether the wall will be dry on Saturday, and what time the sun comes off it.

THE CATALOG
· Hundreds of thousands of routes, across tens of thousands of sectors in 80 countries.
· Community topos, with the lines drawn over the real photo.
· Search by route name, crag, town or grade, plus the full guidebook by region.
· Grades in French, YDS, UIAA, UK and Font — pick your system.
· Route missing? You add it and it goes straight in. New crags and sectors go through review.

THE CONDITIONS
· Friction Score hour by hour, and it tells you why: "Wall in the shade · cool rock, grips", "Rained 6h ago · rock still 40% wet, poor grip".
· Mountain Skyline: the horizon profile of each sector, so you can see when the sun really hits it and when it leaves.
· Season calendar for every crag.
· Geological map of Spain (IGME): what rock you're standing on.

YOUR CREW
· Meetup board: post a plan or join someone else's. Every meetup shows the Friction Score for its spot at its hour, so plans get made with the rock on your side.
· Invite your friends to a meetup, or offer a private plan to just one of them.
· Cordada Match: find a belay partner in your area, by swiping.
· My crew: share your live location only with the people you choose.
· Belay endorsements: what your partners say about how you belay.

YOUR GYM
· Nearly 4,000 climbing gyms on the map, each with its address and the route to the door.
· Join yours and it shows up under Your gyms. Once five of you from the same gym have joined, your room opens.
· Missing yours? Suggest it from the directory and we will review it.

YOUR LOGBOOK
· Log every attempt and every send, with a photo and the conditions of the moment.
· Grade pyramid and consolidated grade: how you're progressing, with data.
· Send card ready to share.
· Your conquest: the map lights up with the sectors and regions you climb.

AT THE WALL
· Augmented reality for the approach: the sectors, labeled over the camera.
· Approach trails: GPS breadcrumbs left by the community so you find the way in.
· Sun path in AR: where it will be three hours from now.
· Offline download: topos, sectors and routes ready with no signal.

FREE AND PREMIUM
Free forever: the map, the catalog, your logbook, the grade pyramid, the geology, the season calendar and the whole social side in your own area — the meetup board, Match and your crew. We don't paywall the community.

Premium (€4.99/month or €39.99/year, one week free; your local price is shown in the App Store) adds the Friction Score and the Mountain Skyline, the alert when one of your plans goes south on the weather, offline download, the sun path in AR and travel mode, which opens up Match and the meetup board in any other region.

And on Fridays the Friction Score belongs to everyone: it opens up for all, right when the weekend needs planning.

MADE BY A CLIMBER
Cordada is made by one person, in Spain, with no investors and no outside money. If something breaks or could be better, write to us from inside the app: it gets fixed.

Climbing carries a risk of serious injury and death. Cordada gives you guidance; the decision and the judgment on the mountain are yours. Always check knot, rope end and belay device.
