Share one phone or iPad with a friend, or play the computer. Each of you hides five ships on a 10x10 sheet, then you trade shots until one fleet is gone. A miss is a pencil circle. A hit is red ink. And every ship is a little doodle with a name, like the Soggy Biscuit, that stays secret until it sinks.
TWO WAYS TO PLAY
- Classic: one shot a turn, the way you played it in class.
- Salvo: one shot for every ship you still have afloat, all fired at once. Faster, with big swings late in the game.
- Tap a square to aim, then press Fire, so a stray tap never costs you a shot.
- Pass the phone and a curtain keeps your fleet secret. Nobody sees a sheet that isn't theirs.
DOODLE SHIPS
Every ship gets a hand-drawn look and a funny name. When one goes down, its drawing is revealed, crossed out in red, and its name goes on the casualty list in the margin.
NOBODY AROUND? SET SAIL ON THE VOYAGE
A campaign of nine computer captains across three seas, from nervous Ensign Puddle on a little 6x6 sheet in the harbor to the Leviathan in the deep. Each one brings a new twist (sonar, Salvo, hits that shoot again), the sheets grow as you go, and every captain's card has its own pencil drawing, from one paper boat to a full-blown storm. Win to sail on, and win well for up to three stars.
Learn each special mechanic as you encounter it, and revisit them anytime in How to Play → Twists.
Or play a quick match against Captain Dinghy (Easy), Captain Barnacle (Medium) or Admiral Ironclad (Hard). The computer never peeks at your fleet. It only knows what a person at the table would know.
FOLD TRICKS ON iPHONE DUO
On iPhone Duo, the crease of the paper is the hinge.
- Stand it up like a laptop and your fleet stands up on the top half, while the water you're shooting at lies flat under your thumbs.
- Fold it shut to end your turn. The outside screen shows whose go it is, never anyone's sheet.
- Close it mid-turn for a cease-fire, then unfold to pick up right where you left off.
- Hinge sonar: bend the phone to sweep a scan line across the rows, then ping to learn how many enemy ship squares are in it.
Great on iPad too, and it works on any iPhone.
- Hand-drawn look, an original sea shanty, pencil sounds and haptics you can feel in every shot
- Works offline
- No ads, no tracking, no accounts. Crease Fire collects nothing.
