CrochetGenie: Pattern Maker

CrochetGenie turns your ideas into crochet patterns — and teaches you the stitches to make them real.

Point your camera at an amigurumi you love, or just describe what you want ("a small sleepy fox, chunky yarn"), and CrochetGenie writes a full round-by-round pattern: stitch counts, colour changes, assembly notes, and a yardage estimate. No more squinting at a blurry photo trying to reverse-engineer someone else's plushie.

LEARN TO CROCHET, PROPERLY
Twelve structured lessons take you from slip knot to finished object. Magic ring, single crochet, increases and decreases, invisible decrease, colour changes, and finishing. Each lesson has a slow-motion demo, a practice swatch, and a check-in before you move on. Left-handed instructions throughout — not mirrored video, actual left-handed guidance.

TRACK EVERY PROJECT
Your work lives in a proper project list with the states makers actually use:
- In Progress — with a live row counter and stitch counter
- Hibernating — set aside, not abandoned
- Frogged — ripped back, no judgement
- Finished — your FO shelf, with photos

The counter keeps your place across rounds, remembers where you stopped mid-row, and works offline on the sofa with no signal.

100 PATTERNS YOU CAN TRUST
Every one of the 100 patterns in the library is either commissioned original work, properly licensed from its designer, or a faithful transcription of a public-domain historical pattern with the source credited. We do not scrape. We do not ingest designers' free patterns without permission. Where a pattern lives on a designer's own site, we link you there and send them the traffic.

BRING YOUR OWN PATTERNS
You already own patterns. Get them all in one place:
- PDF — the ones sitting in your downloads folder
- Photo — snap a page from a book or a magazine you own
- Link — paste the URL of a pattern page and we'll pull the written instructions into a clean, readable format

Imported patterns are parsed on your device. They're yours, they stay private, they're never shared with other users, never added to our library, and never used to train anything. Row counters, US/UK conversion, and project tracking all work on your imports exactly as they do on ours.

BUILT FOR REAL YARN CRAFT
- US and UK terminology — switch anytime, every pattern converts
- Yarn weight and hook size guidance on every pattern
- Gauge helper that tells you what to change when your swatch is off
- Dark-on-light high-contrast typography that stays readable under a lamp at 11pm
