"Dhyāna Lite" contains a collection of wisdom, sayings and inspirations from spiritual leaders of Tibetan Buddhism and Zen for every day of the year: XIV. Dalai Lama, Shantideva, Nagarjuna, Shabkar, Sogyal Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Kalu Rinpoche, Pema Chödrön, Matthieu Ricard, Chakdud Tulku Rinpoche, Dogen, Kodo Sawaki Roshi, Shigetsu Sokei-an, Suzuki Roshi, Taisen Deshimaru-Roshi und viele andere mehr.

Dhyāna describes the elevated level of concentration where the mind is singularly focused on a specific object of attention. Dhyāna is said to be a meditative state of profound stillness and concentration, one that does not involve day-to-day worries. With Buddhism, the term eventually reached China as Chan and Japan as Zen.
