Diabeat

Diabeat is a digital health platform that aims to contribute to the early diagnosis, monitoring and management of Diabetes Mellitus (high blood sugar, aka diabetes). This app helps the users by providing alerts and recommendations based on the medical data entered by them. The platform belongs to Docandu's digital health apps family (www.docandu.com). Docandu developed Diabeat in collaboration with the Hellenic Society of eHealth Services and Education (EEMEPY), the Athens Medical Society, and the support of the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim. Diabeat aims to become the digital health assistant of diabetic patients helping with the management and control of the disease. Through frequent use of the app, users learn to self-manage their condition in the best possible way, avoiding or decreasing its complications. At the same time, doctors can use reliable data from regular measurements and user habits to design a better and personalized treatment plan for the user/patient.

Ιn detail, the application provides the following features to users:

DIABETES MANAGEMENT LOGBOOK
The user can add his daily diabetes-related measurements, such as blood glucose, medications, e.g. metformin or insulin (bolus & basal), diet, weight, exercise/activity, mood, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, HbA1C value and more.

MEDICAL PROFILE
The medical profile includes the following categories: Lifestyle, allergies, vaccinations, family history, medications, conditions, tests, and diabetes data such as type of diabetes, history of heart disease, metformin intolerance/contraindications, desired glucose level, type of medication. The medical profile can be automatically translated from English to Greek and vice versa.

NOTICES
The users can add any reminder to help him manage his disease and overall wellbeing. For example, they can add a daily reminder to measure diabetes or a weekly reminder for exercise every Monday and Sunday.

SYMPTOM CHECKER
The user can get a better understanding of their symptoms via Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Through a series of multiple-choice questions and analysis of the corresponding answers, the user will receive helpful medical advice with the help of Artificial Intelligence technology. Symptom Checker does not replace health professionals. Instead, it is a new innovative tool that can provide an early assessment and guidance for the user's next steps concerning a health problem until the appointment with a doctor.

FINDING HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
The user can find and connect with doctors and hospitals in Greece from the Docandu medical marketplace.

SELF CARE
The self-care section includes instructions and tips for "self-treatment" that the user should ideally follow in his day-to-day life. These sections consist of Nutrition Tips, Exercise Tips, Medication Tips etc.

HEALTH APP
This app allows you to connect with your Apple Health app to help you log the measurements that are related with the Diabetes Logbook provided within the app.
