Description by Semen Tatarinov(from the App Store)
Is your drive fast enough for your next shoot? Test it on iPad before you rely on it.
Diskospeed measures storage read and write speeds and compares the results with reference data rates for video codecs. Check your SSD, USB drive or memory card using the drive, cable, adapter and iPad you actually work with.
MEASURE READ AND WRITE SPEEDS Choose writable storage through Files, select a test file size and run a benchmark. See separate read and write results, available space and file system information. External drives and memory cards require a compatible connection and write access.
CHECK STORAGE PERFORMANCE FOR VIDEO Compare measured speeds with reference profiles for Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD/DNxHR, Blackmagic RAW, H.264 and H.265, covering Full HD and 4K workflows. Separate read and write indicators show whether a result falls below the reference rate, meets it or provides at least 25% headroom.
UNDERSTAND YOUR SETUP View your iPad model's port specifications and notes about potential bottlenecks. Compare results after changing a drive, cable or adapter to see how your setup performs.
EXPLORE THE CODEC REFERENCE Browse built-in explanations of codec families, variants and common production uses, with links to technical documentation.
SAVE YOUR RESULTS Export a plain-text report to the tested folder. Keep measured speeds, test details, volume information and codec comparisons together in a file named with the measurement date and time.
FREE 7-DAY TRIAL. NO SUBSCRIPTION. Activate the free trial to try all features for seven days. After the trial, a one-time Full Access purchase unlocks new benchmarks. There is no automatic charge. Your last completed result and the codec reference remain available after the trial ends.
Designed for iPad. Testing requires writable storage accessible through Files and enough free space for the test file. Results reflect your current storage setup. Codec comparisons assess storage throughput; they do not guarantee camera recording compatibility, real-time playback or decoding performance. Port specifications do not measure the current connection speed.
Each subscription will automatically renew 3 days before the expiration date for
the same time period. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time before the renewal.
