Don't Text Your Ex: No Contact

The urge to text your ex always hits at the worst time. Right after you break up, it's 2am that gets you. Don't Text shows you what that message could cost you, based on your situation right now, and then lets you decide. Don't text him. Don't text her. Not tonight.

This isn't a comfort app. It's the pause between the urge and the send button.

OPEN IT WHEN
• It's late and "you up?" is already typed
• Your ex texted first and you don't know whether to reply
• You want to get back together but don't know if reaching out now will help
• You're sticking to the no contact rule, but you're starting to slip

Whether you want them back or want to get over your ex and move on, the first step is the same: don't send this one.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Tap "I want to text them" (or "They contacted me" if they reached out)
2. Go through four screens: Reality, Impact, Rule, Choice
3. Choose Wait or Send anyway
4. Every choice is logged

IT READS YOUR SITUATION
• Days since the breakup
• What time it is, and how many times you've been here today
• What you've logged here: whether you texted them recently, or they reached out first (and keep doing it)
• Your goal: Reconnect, Protect myself, or Not sure yet
• How many times in a row you've held back
• Days that hit hard: Valentine's Day, Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving in the US

NO CONTACT TRACKER
• How many times you held back, your streak, and your hold rate
• A calendar with each day's decisions and how strong the urge was
• A card to save or share on days you hold back: "I didn't send it."

UNSENT MESSAGES
Write what you want to say to them here instead. They'll never see it.

LATE-NIGHT NUDGES
One nudge around 11pm, only if you've struggled this past week and haven't opened the app that day. Every day, now and then, or off.

WHY THIS EXISTS
"Just don't text them" doesn't work at 2am. You need a pause, and a clear look at what you're about to lose. Closure was never going to come from their reply.

FREE USE AND CONTROL PASS
• Free: once a day, plus once more after a short ad.
• Reaching the last screen uses one; leaving before then doesn't. It resets at midnight.
• Need more without subscribing? Control Pass (paid) removes the daily limit for 24 hours, or 3, 7, 14, or 30 days. One-time purchase, no auto-renewal.

THE NEXT YOU (SUBSCRIPTION)
Holding back is step one. Breakup recovery is what comes next: putting the energy you'd spend on them back into yourself. That's where healing starts.
• A daily question, "Did you look after yourself today?", with photos if you like
• Goals across six areas (exercise, work, looks, money, hobbies, people) with something to do each day, one step at a time
• Worn out? Take 3 or 7 days off; the daily question, tasks and reminders pause
• The You Back Then: reread your unsent messages a week later, with the day and time you wrote them
• No daily limit
You can subscribe two weeks after you first open the app, or sooner once you've held back enough.

PRIVACY
• No account needed for the core app. Without one, your records stay on this device.
• An account is only for The Next You and backup. Unsent messages, notes and photos are encrypted on your device before they're uploaded, so we can't read them. Other records, like dates and counts, are backed up without that encryption. On a new device, sign in to restore everything (with your recovery code, if asked).
• We never read your texts, chats or contacts.

SUBSCRIPTION TERMS
The Next You is a monthly auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account's subscription settings.
