Welcome to Dream Jungle’s collection of soothing bedtime stories, designed to help children calm their bodies, process the day and drift off to sleep more easily. The bedtime stories are based on gentle hypnosis techniques that help your child process everyday experiences and fall asleep more easily. You can choose to listen with or without soft jungle music. If you select the music version, the calming sounds continue for a full hour after the story ends, perfect for helping your child stay relaxed and fall asleep naturally.

The stories were written by Dr. Anna Knakkergaard, who supports children with sleep difficulties as part of her job, using hypnosis and relaxation techniques. Both Anna’s experience and research studies have shown that hypnosis can contribute to a better quality of sleep. This includes the time it takes to fall asleep, how deeply you sleep and the number of awakenings.

MEET THE ANIMALS OF THE DREAM JUNGLE
In the Dream Jungle, the animals struggle with the same bedtime worries that many children do, and that’s exactly why they’re so easy to relate to. Sasha the Sloth worries and overthinks. Polly the Parrot talks too much and doesn’t feel tired at all. Toby the Tapir has a tummy ache and Lulu the Leafcutter Ant is afraid of the dark. Henry the Howler Monkey has a lot on his mind and Jerry the Jaguar is suffering from growing pains. In the stories, the child helps the animals calm down so that both the child and animal can fall asleep.
Deep in the Dream Jungle is the River of Imagination, where the animals play. But sometimes the animals struggle with big feelings and that can make them feel unsettled. There’s Percy the Piranha, who is quick to lose his temper when feelings bubble up inside. Fortunately, an exercise calms him right down and helps him get his emotions under control.

FOR PARENTS
In the Dream Jungle, your child helps the animals settle down and fall asleep. Along the way, your child is gently guided through calming exercises inspired by meditation and light hypnosis techniques. Each story helps children unwind, feel safe in their bodies, and drift naturally off to sleep afterwards. If you choose a story with music, the gentle background music continues for a full hour after the story ends, giving your child plenty of time to relax and fall asleep peacefully. The stories are designed for children aged approximately 4–10 years, though many younger and older children also enjoy journeys into the Dream Jungle.

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is best described as a natural state of focused attention, where the body feels calm and relaxed, and the mind becomes especially open and receptive. It can be easier to process thoughts, feelings and experiences when in this state. We know this state from meditation, daydreaming or immersing ourselves in a good book.
