Ear Guard: Decibel Meter

Are your ears taking too much at clubs, gigs and festivals?
Ear Guard measures the sound level around you with your iPhone's microphone and tells you when your ears need a break. No Apple Watch needed.

KEEP IT IN YOUR POCKET
Tap "Start measuring" when you arrive. Measuring continues with the screen off, and the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show the current level.

FEEL IT WHEN IT'S TOO LOUD
After 10 seconds at a dangerous level, you get a notification such as "At this level you reach your daily limit in 8 min", a cue to step away from the speakers or take a short break.

YOUR EAR LOAD OVER 24 HOURS
Based on the US NIOSH standard, 8 hours at 85 dB counts as 100% (the daily limit). Everything you measure in the last 24 hours adds up, even across two events or past midnight.

PRIVACY
No audio is recorded, stored or sent. The sound is turned into a level reading on your device. No accounts, no ads.

PLEASE NOTE
Ear Guard is not a medical device. Readings are a guide measured with the iPhone microphone. If ringing or a muffled feeling continues, stay away from loud sound and see an ear, nose and throat doctor.
