Exif Remover: Clean Metadata

Every photo carries more than the picture. Where it was taken. What camera shot it. And, since 2024, a signed claim about whether software generated or edited it — the exact field Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok read before putting an "AI info" label on a post.

Exif Remover shows you all of it, in plain words, and takes it off — without touching the picture itself.

WHAT IT SHOWS
• Location, camera make and model, serial number, and timestamps
• The AI-provenance fields called out separately from the identifying ones
• A real, decoded C2PA Content Credential — who signed it and what actions it claims (edited, generative fill, composited), not just "contains a credential"
• The same report for video: location, creation date, camera, and the software that touched it

WHAT IT REMOVES
• JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC are rewritten at the container level — metadata blocks come out, the compressed picture stays byte-for-byte identical, nothing is decoded or recompressed
• Video (MOV/MP4) metadata is overwritten in place, keeping playback untouched
• A second scan of every cleaned file proves the removal — the app checks its own work rather than asserting it

THREE WAYS TO CLEAN
• In the app: pick photos or video, see the report, clean, save or share
• Clean & Send: scrub a file straight from any app's share sheet, no need to open Exif Remover first
• Clean Metadata: an editing extension inside Photos itself — replaces the photo in place, no second copy

FREE
Scan any photo or video and see the complete report, including the decoded C2PA line. Clean up to 3 files in a batch. Save the cleaned copy to Photos. Share it anywhere.

EXIF REMOVER PRO — ONE-TIME PURCHASE
A single purchase unlocks: batches of any size, cleaning video (not just scanning it), Clean & Send from any app's share sheet, editing in place in Photos, a Shortcuts automation ("Remove Metadata from Images"), and replacing the original in Photos automatically instead of keeping both copies. No subscription. Supports Family Sharing.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No accounts, no server, no network code at all. Every photo and video is read, cleaned and checked entirely on this device.

WHAT IT CAN'T DO
Exif Remover removes metadata, not pixels. An invisible watermark encoded into the image itself, like Google's SynthID, survives and stays readable to whoever put it there — and platforms also run their own classifiers on the picture, separate from any tag. Removing metadata removes one signal, not every signal.

Runs universal on iPhone and iPad.
