Explore Ionian Islands is an Interactive Touristic Guiding Application for the promotion of alternative tourism in the Ionian Islands.

PED-IN* has developed, for the first time in the Ionian Islands, thirty plus one (30+1) integrated Insular and Cross-Insular cultural routes across all the Ionian Islands, allowing visitors to self-guide through the created routes using their mobile devices.

The 30+1 cultural routes feature more than 372 Cultural Treasures and Resources (e.g., Castles, Museums, Churches, Monasteries, Monuments, Natural Beauties, Caves, Beaches, etc.) of the Ionian Islands, each with numerous photographs.

Additionally, texts have been written for each Cultural Treasure/Resource to explain and present to visitors its history and significance.

These texts are available in seven languages (Greek, English, Italian, French, German, Russian, and Chinese) to ensure that also foreign visitors have easy access to the information.


*Regional Union of Municipalities of Ionian Islands (PED-IN) is an organization governed by public law, established in Corfu with the Presidential Decree (PD) 75 of 2011.

PED-IN focuses on local and regional public policies and has administrative departments in the 4 major islands of the Ionian Sea and represents the 11 Municipalities of the Region of Ionian Islands:

3. Municipality of South Corfu
4. Municipality of Paxos
5. Municipality of Lefkada
6. Municipality of Meganisi
7. Municipality of Argostoli

This app was created within the framework of the CULTURALION Project.
