WHY A WATCH CHANGES IT

A phone buzzing on a desk is easy to sleep through. A watch against your wrist is not. Pair an Apple Watch and jolts arrive as haptic taps — quiet enough for a library, a lecture hall, or a shared office, and set to Gentle, Standard or Strong depending on how deeply you go under.

READING DOES NOT SET IT OFF

Most drowsiness apps are built for drivers, who sit head-up. Put one on a desk and it cries wolf the moment you look down at a book or a keyboard. EyeJolt watches your eyes, not just your head angle. Reading with your head down does not trigger it. Closing your eyes does.

IT DOES NOT GIVE UP AFTER ONE BEEP

A single buzz is easy to sleep through. EyeJolt escalates: a nudge first, then a firmer alert, then a full jolt that keeps going until you acknowledge it. It catches you dozing off sitting upright, not only when your head drops.

SILENT JOLT

Need to stay quiet? Silent Jolt drops the sound and wakes you with haptics alone. It is less forceful by design, so it does not go it alone: if a jolt goes unanswered for 20 seconds the alarm sounds anyway. You can switch that backstop off if you need true silence — the app tells you exactly what you are giving up.

STARTING IT ON THE WATCH

Open EyeJolt on your Apple Watch and tap Start on wrist when you sit down. Apple only lets a watch app buzz you with your arm down while that session is running, and it lasts up to an hour — the watch tells you when it is nearly up.

EYEJOLT PLUS

EyeJolt Plus unlocks the full sound bank, Silent Jolt, and Apple Watch haptics. Available as an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or annual) or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Detection stays free, and so does recording your own alarm.
