Description by Lori Shaw(from the App Store)
Family Forks turns cooking together into something your children actually learn from — without you having to guess what they are ready for.
THE SPLIT Open any mission and Family Forks divides its steps between the grown-up and each child. It works from four things: the child's age, the published age floor for the technique, whether a grown-up has already signed that technique off for THIS child, and how hazardous the step itself is. Every step that stays with the grown-up shows the reason. Steps rated adult are never handed to a child at any age, and the app says so.
COOK MODE, BUILT FOR ONE MESSY HAND Two tracks side by side, big targets, step timers, and a screen that stays awake. Nothing interrupts a cook — no ads, and no upsell mid-recipe.
TWELVE MISSIONS AND TWENTY TECHNIQUES — ALL FREE, PERMANENTLY Every mission, technique and recipe is free and always will be. Each technique carries the grip, the age band, the tool, the mistake to expect, and a link straight into a mission that practises it. Safety briefs quote the USDA's own minimum internal temperatures rather than inventing any.
A SKILL TREE THAT IS EARNED, NOT AWARDED Mastery is computed from the steps your cooks actually complete, and a grown-up makes the final call on whether a child can do something alone. Badges, a kitchen-confidence score with its working shown, and an honest refusal to draw a report from too little data.
PLAN THE WEEK, SHOP ONCE Put missions on nights, get one aisle-grouped shopping list across all of them, minus whatever your pantry already holds.
TASTINGS Count how many times a child has genuinely met a food, against the published exposure band for their age — and against the point where most families give up. It never promises a child will come to like anything.
FAMILY FORKS PRO (optional subscription) Pro sells your family's progress, never the recipes: - Every cook in the family gets their own track (free covers 2) - The whole week auto-built around what they are ready to learn next (free plans 2 days) - Your entire cooking history (free shows the last 30 days) - Mastery reports, technique by technique
$9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation. The trial converts to the plan you picked unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, and the subscription auto-renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple account settings.
Your cooks, what they have learned and your week's plan sync to your account and nowhere else. There is no camera, no microphone, no location, and not one photograph is stored. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from the You tab.
