FenceSpan: Fence Run Takeoff

FenceSpan is a fence run takeoff for installers and homeowners who need a material order before the lumber yard trip.

Type the length of each run, add gates, pick 6 ft or 8 ft post spacing, a fence style and a height. The Takeoff screen answers immediately:

• Post count — line, corner and gate posts, with the stock length to buy (8', 10' or 12') and the cut length
• Rails — rails per bay for the style and height, with 2×4 stock and cuts
• Boards or pickets — board width plus gap, with waste allowance; board-on-board shows the overlap that covers each gap
• Concrete bags per post — from hole diameter, embed depth and your bag size (50, 60 or 80 lb), plus total bags and drainage gravel
• Cut list — post trims, rail cuts, board cuts, short panel bays and gate frame pieces

• Privacy board-on-board (cedar, two staggered layers)
• Picket (vinyl or painted, open gap)
• Split rail (mortised posts, rails one foot longer than the bay)
• Pre-built panel (pressure-treated panels, galvanized brackets)

STRING LINE VIEW
Every run is drawn as a mason's line with each post and gate placed, so you can check bay count and the short end bay at a glance.

RUNS
Save a takeoff with a job name and site note. Open it later for the full cut list, reload it into Takeoff, or mark it for the material list.
