Forecast Friends Weather

Most weather apps make you choose: a few big numbers, or a wall of them. I built Forecast Friends to give you all the data in a unique design you can take in at a glance.

One chart shows the next 24 hours: sun, moon, clouds, rain, and storms over temperature and wind. When rain is near, the next hour is charted minute by minute. Tap any of the next nine days to see it hour by hour.

When you want more, it goes deeper, from true dawn and dusk to the Milky Way and 30 years of past weather. And when you just want the gist, the next four days are drawn as a cartoon.

Add any place you care about, preview it before you save it, and keep your own location pinned at the top.

EVERY CARD, IN DETAIL

• Current conditions, feels-like temperature, high, and low
• Nine-day forecast, with any day hour by hour at a tap
• Wind speed, gusts, and direction
• Humidity, dew point, and pressure
• UV, cloud cover, air quality, and pollen
• Sunrise, sunset, moonrise, and moonset
• Tide curves for U.S. coastal locations

RADAR AND MAPS

Every card opens a map with radar, satellite, precipitation, lightning, temperature, feels-like, wind, air quality, and severe-weather alerts (U.S.). Tap an alert on the map to read it.

The full-screen map adds:

• Radar from the past hour to two hours ahead
• Animated wind particles
• Snow and snow depth
• Wildfires, fire outlook, and smoke
• Hurricane tracks, forecast cones, and tropical warnings
• Tap anywhere for a readout in your units

ALERTS THAT MATTER

Every card shows active official weather alerts at a glance.

Free push alerts warn you about severe weather and rain starting where you are, and a Live Activity follows the rain right on your Lock Screen. Premium adds severe-weather warnings for your saved locations.

FOR SKY WATCHERS AND WEATHER BUFFS

Turn on any of these in Settings:

• True sun and moon heights
• Civil, nautical, and astronomical dawn and dusk
• Moon phase and each night's dark hours
• When the Milky Way core is up, and where to look
• This date in past years: how today's high and low compare with the last 30 years (U.S. locations)

DRIVING MODE

On iPhone and iPad, Premium's Driving mode shows the wind on your car as you drive, with direction-up maps of wind, radar and lightning, temperature, visibility, and driving alerts.

FOUR DAYS, IN FOUR FRAMES

Turn any forecast into an illustrated four-panel cartoon of today and the next three days, then swipe through it panel by panel. Each one is drawn fresh from the forecast, with wildlife and scenery from that place: a fun way to see what's ahead, and easy to share.

IPHONE, IPAD, APPLE WATCH, AND MAC

Use Forecast Friends across your Apple devices, with widgets for any location's weather card or cartoon of the day, and on iPhone a Sky widget with the next 12 hours of sky. On iPhone Duo, it fills the screen open or closed.
