Write, format, and export a standards-oriented EPUB 3 file ready for your distribution workflow. Catch broken links, package issues, and common content problems with the built-in validator. Export a validation report as text or PDF when you need a shareable checklist.

Chapter management
Add, rename, reorder, delete, duplicate, merge adjacent chapters, or split after the first block. Keep spine and navigation consistent as your book grows. Find and replace across all XHTML (including nav). Batch-edit metadata across selected library projects (Pro).

Rich text + code (Pro)
Toggle between WYSIWYG editing and syntax-highlighted source editing. On iPad, use split view for code and preview. Go-to-line and in-file search help you move fast.

Metadata & cover
Edit core Dublin Core fields, pick a cover, and keep OPF cover metadata in sync. Pro adds an OPF source view for package XML.

Validation & export
Run structural and content checks, jump from issues to the right file, and export EPUB 3 via Share Sheet. Pro unlocks full validation, auto-fix, EPUB 2 export, PDF and DOCX export, and validation report export. Optional image compression is available on supported exports.

Apple Pencil markup (Pro)
Annotate in markup mode with PencilKit. Sidecar annotations travel with the project; export an Annotations PDF when you need a review pass.

iCloud Drive sync (Pro)
Optionally sync your project library to iCloud Drive — your files, your Apple ID. Restore on another device when you’re signed in.

Start from writer-shaped structural templates (Novel, Cookbook, Poetry, Textbook, Memoir, Short Stories). Advanced CSS tools let you create and delete stylesheets with package and chapter link sync, light lint, and class suggestions. Clean Up Book runs safe, on-device batch fixes across chapters and stylesheets — whitespace, trailing spaces, safe entities, optional empty alt and indentation, plus OPF language/identifier fills.

Offline & private
Core editing works offline. Manuscripts stay on your device unless you export or enable sync. No account required. No third-party analytics SDKs. Crash and usage analytics are opt-in and off by default.
