LOC8 was originally built around public-safety use cases, where seconds and accurate information can matter. Law enforcement, security, fire and EMS, search and rescue, field workers, and outdoor professionals can quickly access the address, cross street, GPS coordinates, heading, and location details they may need in the moment.
It is also useful for everyday situations such as travel, hiking, roadside issues, meeting someone at a large venue, finding your parked car, navigating rural property, rideshare pickups, deliveries, job sites, or simply checking where you are.
LOC8 supports multiple coordinate formats, including Decimal Degrees, Degrees Minutes Seconds, Degrees Decimal Minutes, and MGRS. Quickly copy or share your address, GPS coordinates, heading, elevation, or what3words location code.
Save important places for later. Pin trailheads, campsites, parking spots, work sites, access points, meeting locations, staging areas, favorite places, or anywhere difficult to describe. Search a saved spot or enter a location code, then use live distance and compass direction to find your way back.

LOC8 is not turn-by-turn navigation. It is a fast location-reference tool for the moment you need to know exactly where you are.
Privacy matters. LOC8 only uses location while the app is open. It does not create accounts, user profiles, live tracking, or location history. Saved locations remain on your device. When LOC8 resolves a current GPS coordinate into an address or cross street, that coordinate may be used with Apple location services and LOC8’s secured backend for that lookup.
