Ghost Light: Scene Partner

The sides came in at nine. The self-tape is due tomorrow, and there is nobody awake to read the other part with you.

Ghost Light is built for that night. And for the one before the audition, when you need two minutes that fit and you are scrolling the same forty speeches everyone else will bring into the room.

A SCENE PARTNER THAT NEVER CANCELS

Bring your sides any way they reach you: a PDF from your agent's email, a Word file, or text you paste in. Ghost Light reads the script, finds the cast, and asks which part is yours. Choose a voice for everyone else and begin.

Your partner reads their lines out loud, then waits for you. Finish your line and they come in on cue. Run it once to learn the shape of the scene, then again and again until it lives in your body, at midnight, on the train, in the hallway before they call your name.

Not sure how it works? Three short first scenes, a fight, a flirt and a confession, walk you through it in two minutes, free.

SEARCH THE WAY YOU ACTUALLY THINK

Type "a grieving mother." Type "something funny that isn't Neil Simon." Ghost Light understands what you mean, not just the words you typed, and surfaces monologues that match the feeling. No keyword guessing. No browsing forty pages of Shakespeare to find the one speech that fits.

KNOW WHAT'S OVERDONE

Every monologue carries a freshness score. Filter for hidden gems and walk in with something the panel has not already heard four times that morning. No other monologue app tells you this.

FILTER FOR THE ROOM YOU'RE WALKING INTO

Age range and gender. Under one, two, or three minutes. Tone: comedic, dramatic, dark, defiant, anguished, contemplative. Emotion: anger, longing, grief, fear, joy, despair, resolve.

STAGE AND SCREEN, ONE LIBRARY

19,000+ monologues from 2,100+ plays, classical and contemporary. Plus 5,000+ speeches from films and TV shows, browsable by poster, character, and length. Shakespeare and Chekhov in the same place as the screen work you actually watch.

YOUR BOOK, ALWAYS WITH YOU

Save what you love and it's there next time, on any device you sign in on. Subscribers can read their saved pieces offline, so your book still opens in the basement hallway outside the audition room where there's no signal.

YOUR WEEK, ON THE BOARD

Add an audition, attach the piece you are bringing, and Ghost Light reminds you the evening before and two hours before the call. The reminder opens straight to your monologue.

TONIGHT'S SPEECH

Every evening Ghost Light picks one monologue for the stage and one for the screen. Put the widget on your home screen and a new speech is waiting each night.

BUILT FOR ACTORS, NOT FOR SPREADSHEETS

A ghost light is the single bulb left burning on an empty stage overnight, so the theatre is never fully dark. This app is named for it. Warm, quiet, made for working in the dark before you go in.

FREE AND PREMIUM

Free: search the full catalog, read three monologues in full, run the three first scenes as often as you like, and bring one script of your own to rehearse.

Ghost Light Premium unlocks the scene partner for every script you bring, unlimited reading, tone, emotion and freshness filters, offline access, and copy to clipboard. The yearly plan starts with a free week.
