Point your camera at a label and Grotto tells you the wine, what it’s worth, when to drink it and what it will taste like. Your whole collection lives in one warm, candle-lit place, along with every glass you’ve loved along the way.
SNAP A LABEL. THAT’S IT.
No typing in producers or hunting down vintages. Photograph a bottle, or even the line on a restaurant wine list, and Grotto fills in the producer, vintage, grapes and region. It adds an estimated market price, a drinking window and tasting notes written for that exact wine. Then put it in a cellar, log it in your Journal or let it go.
NEVER OPEN A BOTTLE TOO SOON, OR TOO LATE
Grotto sorts every wine into Ready, Resting and Past peak. That 2019 Barolo you’ve been saving? Grotto shows you when its moment has come, and which bottles to open before they slip past their best.
YOUR WHOLE CELLAR, AT A GLANCE
See how many bottles you have, what they’re worth and how your reds, whites, rosés and sparkling stack up. Keep up to five cellars, at home, at the lake house or in storage, and move between them with a swipe.
A SOMMELIER IN YOUR POCKET
Tell Grotto what’s cooking: “braised beef and polenta”. It looks through your own bottles, not a store’s, and picks the one to open, with a few lines on why it works. Don’t like the pick? Ask for another.
A JOURNAL OF EVERY GOOD GLASS
The Tignanello at that little trattoria. The Champagne from your anniversary. Log the wines you drink at home and out, with where you were, what you paid and who you shared it with, then rate it on a dial from 1 to 5. Opening a bottle from your cellar? Tap Pour One and it’s counted and logged in one go.
JUST ASK
“Hey Siri, how many bottles of red do I have in Grotto?” Ask about your cellar hands-free, or find any wine from Spotlight and Shortcuts.
MADE FOR THE WAY YOU DRINK
Prices in euros, dollars, pounds, Swiss francs and more. No accounts and no sign-ups. Your cellar and Journal are stored on your iPhone.
ABOUT THE AI FEATURES
Label scanning, tasting notes, price estimates and the Sommelier use the AI service you choose: OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. Add your own API key in Settings. Label photos and Sommelier requests, with the wines they’re about, are sent only to that service, and only when you ask. Your cellar, ratings and Journal all work without a key.
Open something wonderful. Grotto will remember it.
