Grounded is the honest way to curb your phone. Your most distracting apps stay locked by default. To unlock them, you earn credits from real-world activity and then spend them to buy a timed unlock window. 1 credit = 1 minute of screen time.

HOW IT WORKS
• Pick which apps to block (Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, anything distracting)
• Earn credits — 10 per 1,000 steps, up to 30 per nature check-in, 1 per 2 min of focus (Premium boosts mindfulness to 1 per 90 sec)
• Tap Unlock, pick a window — 15, 30, or 60 minutes, or a 5–10 minute Quick Check
• Your apps stay open for the full window, on the clock. Not on how much you actually use them
• Lock early and any unused credits come back

EARN CREDITS FOUR WAYS
• Walking — reads your step count from Apple Health (your step count never leaves your device)
• Workouts — cycling, swimming, strength, HIIT, yoga and more earn credits too
• Focus sessions — Deep Focus, Mindfulness, or Movement. Choose a timer, pick a theme, go
• Nature visits — the app finds real parks, trails, and beaches near you. Check in for +15 to +30 credits

STAY COMMITTED
• Protected Time — schedule hours when credits can't be spent (sleep, work, dinner)
• Monk Mode — block everything except your essentials for a set stretch (Premium)
• A block screen that shows your live credit balance, right where the temptation happens
• A short breathing pause before each unlock, so you decide on purpose — not on autopilot

Grounded doesn't pretend to track how much you actually use an app — iOS doesn't give us that number in real time without daily lag. Instead it's a clean wall-clock deal: you buy minutes, you get minutes. Predictable and fair.
