HART is primarily a virtual-pet raising and social application. In addition to pet-related features, the app includes an optional live voice-room feature where users can listen to and participate in real-time conversations.

The `audio` background mode is used only when a user explicitly enters a live voice room and that real-time audio session remains active. Users can continue listening when the device is locked or the app is temporarily placed in the background. If a user voluntarily takes a microphone seat or accepts an invitation to speak, the user can also continue the real-time voice conversation.

The pet-raising features and normal app browsing do not start or use background audio. When the user leaves the voice room, the real-time audio session ends and the app no longer runs audio for that room in the background. The background audio mode is not used for silent audio, advertising, location tracking, or unrelated background processing.
