Henro Helper

Henro Helper is packed with useful information and navigation tools to help you plan and complete the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage in Japan.

Use real-time GPS location and heading information to follow your preferred route. Routes are color-coded to show busy roads (red), quiet roads (black), easy trails (green), moderate trails (blue), and difficult trails (purple).

OFFLINE MAPS

A detailed standard map is included with the app and can be used without an internet connection. A topographic map is also available when connected to the internet.

ROUTE INFORMATION

Follow a highlighted route and Henro Helper automatically displays your remaining distance, remaining ascent, and estimated time remaining as you progress.

WAYPOINTS

Easily find temples, Bangai pilgrimage sites, points of interest, toilets, rest areas, convenience stores, accommodations, campgrounds, and much more. Many waypoints can be opened for additional information.

PREMADE ITINERARIES

Henro Helper includes daily walking itineraries for completing the pilgrimage, with different route options depending on how easy or challenging you want your day to be. Routes include distance, ascent, estimated walking time, and important notes to help you plan ahead.

MEASURE AND CREATE YOUR OWN ROUTES

Use the Measure tool to calculate the distance, ascent, and estimated time for your own route. Routes can be saved, allowing you to create and organize your own custom pilgrimage itinerary.
