Answers come from the on-device model of Apple Intelligence, so replies are fast with no server to wait for, and chatting works even offline. For questions that need the latest information, Hey AI searches the web.

■ FAST, EVEN OFFLINE
Answers are generated by the AI on your device. With no server to wait for, replies come quickly, and you can keep chatting on a plane or wherever there's no signal. Your conversations are never used to train AI, and your chat history stays on your device.

■ UP-TO-DATE ANSWERS FROM THE WEB
For questions that need current information, like "What's the weather in New York tomorrow?" or today's exchange rate, Hey AI can search the web with your permission and answer with sources you can open. Only short search keywords are sent, never your full conversation. You can turn this off anytime in Settings.

■ ASK ABOUT PHOTOS (iOS 27 or later)
Attach a photo and ask "What is this?" or "How do I cook this?" Photos never leave your device.

■ TALK WITH SIRI AND SHORTCUTS
Say "Hey Siri, Hey AI" to ask without opening the app. After the answer, say "Continue" to keep the conversation going. Chats are searchable in Spotlight too.

■ SPEAKS YOUR LANGUAGE
Hey AI answers in the language of your message. You can also choose a fixed answer language in Settings.

■ REQUIREMENTS
A device that supports Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or later, iPad and Mac with M1 or later, and more) running iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Asking about photos requires iOS 27 or later.
