Description by Guillaume Ries(from the App Store)
Histour is an immersive audio guide: on every walk, you step into the shoes of a character — historical or fictional — who lived that place and that time. The story starts on its own when you reach the right spot, told in the first person.
You walk through Paris, and a voice speaks to you. A woodworker from the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, one July morning in 1789. The copyist writing in Florence to the dictation of Galileo, gone blind. The hairdresser of Empress Sisi in Vienna, the only person allowed to touch her every day.
You don't need to look at the screen: put the phone in your pocket and keep your eyes on the street. Every stop adds verified images and anecdotes, to read whenever you like.
ALSO FOR LISTENING WITHOUT WALKING A remote listening mode lets you follow the whole story and the images from home, no GPS needed — to plan a trip, or simply for the pleasure of listening.
WHO IT'S FOR A traveller who wants to understand what they're looking at. A student who wants to step into a period from their textbook. Anyone who'd rather be told a city than have it listed to them.
CITIES TODAY, MORE TO COME Today in Paris, Rome, Florence, Prague, Vienna, London. From half an hour to two and a half hours of walking, roughly ten to thirty minutes of narration, across three difficulty levels — easy, moderate, challenging — a walk for every day.
ONE FREE WALK PER CITY, IN FULL Not a sample: the complete walk, to judge before you buy. Each one after that is sold separately, or as a pass for a whole city. No subscription, no advertising, no account to create.
WHAT YOU'LL KNOW ON THE WAY HOME Every walk states its promises on its own page, before you buy. The spire of Notre-Dame that collapsed in 2019 wasn't medieval: it was just over a hundred and fifty years old. The plaque at 72 rue de Belleville says Édith Piaf was born there, under a streetlamp; her birth certificate says otherwise.
LANDMARKS, INCLUDED At every stop, one thing to look at today. A silent card, no commentary.
OFFLINE Sound, maps and images fit in the phone. No network needed while you walk — useful abroad.
LANGUAGES Every walk is voiced in French and English. The app and its texts exist in eight languages: French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Czech, Chinese, Japanese. Each walk's page states, before you buy, what you get in your language.
WHAT WE DON'T DO No account. No tracking. Your location never leaves your phone: it triggers the story, and nothing else.
Each subscription will automatically renew 3 days before the expiration date for
the same time period. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time before the renewal.
