Hoopmap: Basketball Courts

Hoopmap helps you find a basketball court wherever you are — no matter the city or country.

Open the app, allow location access, and Hoopmap shows the courts around you, sorted by distance, as a scrollable list or as pins on a map. Tap a court to see its details: indoor or outdoor, number of hoops, exact coordinates, and a photo when one is available. A "Directions" button opens Maps for step-by-step navigation.

NO LOCATION? STILL WORKS

You can decline the location permission and use the app anyway: pick a city from a built-in list, or pan the map to any neighbourhood in the world and search what you are looking at. One tap brings you back to "near me" whenever you change your mind.

WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM

Court locations come from OpenStreetMap, the open, community-maintained map of the world, queried live for the area you are viewing — so coverage is not limited to a handful of major cities. Some courts also include a photo from Wikimedia Commons, shown together with its author and licence, and only when that attribution is available.

ADD THE COURTS THAT ARE MISSING

If a court near you is not listed yet, add it yourself: name it, set the hoop count and whether it is indoor or outdoor, and place it on the map or use your current position. It is saved instantly and becomes visible to everyone searching that area. Every user-submitted court can be reported, and reports are reviewed by hand.

NO ACCOUNTS, NO ADS

There is no sign-up screen and no password to remember. Hoopmap creates an anonymous session for you, and that is the only thing it knows about you — no name, no email address, no advertising identifier, and no ads anywhere in the app.

You can see exactly what that session holds, and delete it, in Settings › Your data: every court you submitted, every report you filed, and the anonymous identifier itself.

Whether you are travelling, new in town, or just want a hoop for a pickup game tonight, Hoopmap points you to the nearest one.
