Hotspot Watcher shows local IPv4 addresses, MAC addresses when available, and names advertised by devices on your network. Give each device a familiar name and a simple smartphone, tablet, or computer icon.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Scan your Personal Hotspot or explicitly choose another directly connected local network.
- Inspect IP and MAC addresses and advertised network names.
- Tell apart devices that responded, cached addresses, and devices seen earlier in the session.
- Save your own names and icon choices.
- See a MAC vendor when the bundled offline registry has a suitable match.
- Copy or share a device's details.
- Refresh manually or every 15 seconds while the app is open.
LOCAL AND PRIVATE
No account, ads, analytics, subscriptions, or cloud backend. Scanning and vendor lookup stay local. Names and icon choices are saved on your device. You choose whether to copy or share details.
KNOW WHAT A SCAN MEANS
A scan is a snapshot, not an official list of every connected hotspot client. Sleeping or quiet devices may be missed. Cached addresses can remain after a device disconnects. Names, MAC addresses, and vendor information may be unavailable. Private MAC addresses can change.
Hotspot Watcher does not turn your hotspot on or off, block devices, or measure their traffic usage.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 and Local Network permission. To inspect your own hotspot, run the app on the device providing Personal Hotspot and connect another device to it. Personal Hotspot availability depends on your device and cellular plan. Keep the app open during scanning.
