In the Attic

Based ‘Very’ loosely on the original game Attic Attack for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum by Chris Stamper for Ultimate Play The Game.

"In The Attic" retains the magic of the original game but with added modern graphics not constrained by 48K of the Sinclair Spectrum.
 
The look and feel has been retained but the character, graphics and room layout is completely different. Unlike the excellent original there is only one character and 95 rooms spread out over 5 levels (or 6 if you go down the wrong trap door).


Use the Arrow Keys to direct your Knight to collect the Main Door Key which is divided into 4 pieces spread out across multiple levels. In addition, there are 4 colour coded doors Red, Green, Blue and Yellow and you will need to collect these keys to allow you to unlock colour coded doors.

If you do not want to use the Arrow Keys then for an added bonus: in Settings->Apps->In The Attic->Allow Door Touch. This will allow you to touch the door to pass to the next room. Likewise touch a key or fruit to collect.

Find the keys, unlock the main door game over Er…

However, some rooms have Bats and Skeletons which will chase you which if they touch will diminish your health also, mushrooms poison you and touching them will also decrease your health.

Also Watch out for Wizards who suddenly appear. They are fast with Spells but terrible Shots so Keep Moving…

Health is shown by the descending Monty Python foot in the scroll. When it hits the bottom that’s it Game over… However, to mitigate dying, eat fruit and other edible items which will give you extra time and allow you to complete the game.

Don’t eat the fruit just because its there, you may end up in the same place a few times and once you have eaten the food its gone…

Doors Bookcases and Clocks. In some rooms you will see bookcases and occasionally a Grandfather Clock. Some but not all conceal secret passages and its worth trying to see where they go. However, some bookcases are inactive unless you have all 4 door keys. Just be warned…

There are trap doors some locked with Yellow doors, which to enter these you will need the Yellow key. Trap doors that are not locked will lead you to a sub dungeon level and you will need to work out how to get out…

If you think the game is a little too easy then you can select settings then “Hard Mode” which shortens the time it takes for the foot to drop. Watch out for wizards as their strength increases too.

If you need to Cheat there are option in the Settings with the default ZX spectrum Cheat Nemonic "LD (HL),0" this will deactivate booting you out when your life reaches Zero...
