Itqan — Quran Memorization

Have you ever memorized the Quran only to forget it later?

Many of us master pages of memorization early on, only to face a painful void months later — that heartache when you try to recall a verse and it's gone. This isn't a lack of willpower; it's simply how human memory works without structured review.

The Science of Forgetting

Psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus discovered that memory follows a predictable forgetting curve — and that reviewing at the right moment multiplies retention exponentially. Itqan applies this science specifically to the classical Islamic memorization methodology.

Sabq · Sabqi · Manzil Method

Itqan is built on the three-tier system trusted by Quran teachers worldwide:

• Sabq — New daily memorization. You decide how many pages per week; the app distributes them across your days.
• Sabqi — Near review. Pages memorized in recent weeks, ordered by risk of forgetting.
• Manzil — Far review. Your entire past memorization on spaced cycles until it's firmly rooted.

After each review you rate your recall — Mastered / Good / Hesitant / Forgot — and the spaced-repetition algorithm reschedules every page with precision.
