Is today a good day? Jade Codex is a traditional Chinese almanac (黃曆, the tong shu) that answers from the day itself, and from your own chart.

YOUR BAZI CHART, BY TRUE SOLAR TIME

Enter your birth date for your Four Pillars chart (八字): Day Master, favorable elements and this year's 流年; Premium opens the ten gods and every decade-luck pillar. An exact birth time is corrected to true solar time for your birthplace. Then today is read against your chart: a tier for the day and a line on what to do.

ORIGINS

Origins (源流) is a river of 29 turning points, from the Shang day count to the Qing almanac, in four lanes: Calendar, Changes, Birth and Dreams. Each claim is marked History records, Unearthed text, Scholars differ or Tradition says, and most turning points link to the part of the app they became.

WHERE THE NUMBERS COME FROM

Everything is computed on your device. Solar terms come from a table precomputed from NASA JPL's DE440 ephemeris. 宜/忌 come from a 通書 table; the day officer and clashes follow 《欽定協紀辨方書》 (Qing, 1741). The Sources & Lineage page names every source.
