Joey is an on-demand marketplace & telehealth platform that connects parents with Maternal & Child Health experts such as Lactation Consultants, Doulas, and Sleep Consultants.

Go from "Search to Speak" within 10 minutes. In less time than it takes for an Uber to arrive, you can be completing telehealth calls with certified and/or licensed, independent, health & wellness professionals. Find the perfect support FOR YOU!

How It Works:
1) Search by "Expert Type" such as a Lactation Consultant, Doula (Childbirth Doula or Postpartum Doula), or Sleep Consultant
2) Tailor your search results to your specific needs. You can find experts that are available Now (On-Demand), sometime Today, or Soon (loads all search results). There are also numerous filters to help narrow down your choices, such as our "Inclusivity" filters that help improve maternal healthcare results for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people. We also have a "Languages" filter (with 25 options) if you'd prefer to speak with an expert in a language other than English.
3) Review In-Depth Profiles of experts by scanning their experience, working style, ratings & reviews, and prices to find the best fit for you
4) Make An Appointment or if completing an "On-Demand" call, we'll place you into the Waiting Room after "prep" finishes
5) Prepare for Telehealth Call: Fill out the "Client Intake Forms" in advance and find a well-lit, comfortable place with a strong wifi signal
6) Create "Care Plan" Together: Your expert will help you create a "Care Plan" and troubleshoot any issues you might be having

Under the Affordable Care Act, lactation support is now free of charge for most commercial insurance plans without any co-pays, co-insurance, or deductibles.

If you wish to submit a reimbursement claim with your health insurer, make sure to work with a Lactation Consultant that holds the IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) certification as most health insurers will only reimburse claims when working with this type of lactation professional. Ask the IBCLC if they will give you a "Superbill" that you can submit to your health insurer as proof of your consultation.
