Kobako: Idea Companion

Kobako — Japanese for “small box” — is not a to-do app, not a planner and not a notebook. It is a place where ideas live, and someone lives there with them.

A COMPANION IN THE HOUSE
Kapi, a capybara, lives on the Home screen. He putters about his room, answers what you do, and brings back an idea that has been resting too long. In between, he keeps quiet.

EVERY IDEA HAS ITS PLACE
• Anything you think of lands in Inbox the same way — typed or dictated
• Folders answer to keywords, so new ideas file themselves where they belong
• An unfinished idea gets a fresh page laid over it — up to five, with the earlier thinking still readable underneath
• Each day you bring up to three ideas into Focus. That is the whole limit

A HOME THAT GROWS
Five hand-made rooms are there on opening day — from a window library to an attic in Paris — and new rooms keep arriving after launch. You make each place Kapi’s as you go, with furniture, clothes and small things. Everything purchasable is decor.

• No account and no sign-in — your ideas stay on your device
• Notifications are small scenes with Kapi, never nagging
• Dark theme throughout; Reduce Motion honoured everywhere Kapi moves
• iPhone and iPad, 10 languages
