Koushir Calendar

Koushir Calendar is a panchang app built for the Kashmiri Pandit community. It follows the traditional Vijayshwar Panchang and shows the Vikrami Samvat lunar calendar alongside Gregorian dates, so you always know where you stand in both worlds.

I built this because living away from Kashmir means festivals can slip by unnoticed. This app is my way of making sure that does not happen for our community.

WHAT THE APP COVERS

The calendar includes all major Kashmiri Hindu festivals and sacred days: Herath (Maha Shivaratri), Navreh (Kashmiri New Year), Kheer Bhawani, Jyeshtha Ashtami, Ganga Ashtami, Rishi Panchami, Mahalakshmi Vrat, all Navratri days, Ekadashis, and Sankrantis. Every tithi is marked, with special highlight on Ashtami, Poornima, Ekadashi, and Amavasya. Data covers April 2023 through March 2026.

DAILY VIEW

Open the app and see today's tithi, paksha, and Kashmiri month name at a glance. Sunrise and sunset times are calculated using your actual device location, not a fixed city. If location is unavailable, sun times are hidden rather than shown incorrectly.

AARTIS

12 traditional aartis are included in full Devanagari text: Sri Ganesh, Jagdish, Saraswati Mata, Lakshmi Mata, Ambey Mata, Durga, Shivji, Hanuman, Krishna, Mata Vaishnodevi, Saibaba, and Santoshi Mata.

PERSONAL EVENTS

You can save your own vraths, family ceremonies, and personal observances against any date. Everything is stored locally on your device and never leaves it.

WORKS OFFLINE

All calendar data ships inside the app. No internet connection needed for any feature.

Koushir Calendar is free, has no ads, and does not collect any personal data.
