Linen: Live Captions & Notes

Secure, smooth work, whether you're on your own or a small team.
Linen transcribes the meeting in front of you on your iPhone, shows live translated captions between Japanese and English, and turns it into minutes you can actually read when you stop. It works as a Markdown editor, too.

ON-DEVICE: AUDIO NEVER LEAVES YOUR IPHONE
Transcription and translation all happen on your iPhone. Your audio is never sent to the cloud, so you can use Linen for confidential and client meetings. We run no server, and you need no account.

LIVE TRANSLATED CAPTIONS
Tap the red button, and Linen listens through your iPhone's microphone and turns what people say into captions. Between Japanese and English, each translation appears when a sentence ends. You can also record without captions. Pause and resume any time, and pick the project and the microphone.

STOP, AND GET MINUTES
When you stop, Linen turns the recording into minutes and keeps them on your iPhone. Read them with the translation under each line, and tap a sentence to play the audio from that point, with 15-second skip back and forward.

A MARKDOWN EDITOR, TOO
Copy text or Markdown that an AI wrote, paste it in, and Linen sets it as a clean document without the symbols. Keep writing and editing right there: Linen works as a Markdown editor, too.

SEARCH AND EXPORT
Search meetings and documents together from the library. Export minutes and documents as Markdown. Deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days.

SYNC WITH YOUR MAC (LINEN PRO)
Turn on Sync with Mac in Settings, and meeting text and translations, minutes, projects and dictionaries from Linen on your Mac appear on your iPhone, and meetings you record on your iPhone appear on your Mac. It uses iCloud with the same Apple Account. Your data is stored in your own iCloud, and audio is never sent. Sync runs only when you turn it on.

LINEN PRO
Recording, captions and translation are free, always. Sync with your Mac is a Linen Pro feature. Choose a monthly auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Pro bought on your Mac also works on this iPhone with the same Apple Account.

The monthly plan renews automatically every month. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. It renews at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.

PRIVACY
Audio never leaves your iPhone. Meeting text and translations go to your own iCloud only when you turn on sync, and we cannot read them. Linen goes online only when iOS downloads Apple's language data, to sync with iCloud, and for App Store purchases. No ads, no tracking.

When you record a meeting with other people, please let them know you are recording.

REQUIREMENTS
An iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Japanese–English translation requires Apple's translation to be available on your iPhone. Sync requires Linen for Mac and both devices signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account.
