Linger: Easy Reading & Focus

Linger is a calm reader for long, dense text. Every feature is included, with room for three saved readings at a time; the optional Linger Pro subscription removes that limit. It runs on this iPhone and asks for no account.

WORD ANCHORING
Focus adds a little weight to the beginning of each word, so the eye always has somewhere to land. The first time Linger opens it asks where the emphasis feels right; it can be changed at any time, or switched off completely. Linger makes no claim about reading speed. What it offers is a quieter page.

ONE WORD AT A TIME
Pace shows a single word at a time, anywhere between 60 and 900 words a minute, with the surrounding sentence in view and a rewind that steps back one sentence. It opens at the same place as the reader and hands that place back when it closes.

BRING IN WHAT IS ALREADY THERE
Paste a passage, open a file, or scan printed pages with the camera. Linger opens PDF, EPUB, Word (.docx), HTML, TXT and Markdown. Camera text recognition happens on this iPhone, and the page images are deleted once a scanned reading is saved. Scans, image-only PDFs, and EPUB, Word and HTML files open an editable review screen before they are kept; plain text and PDFs that already carry selectable text open straight into the reader. Every import takes the text only and leaves the original file untouched.

A PAGE THAT FITS THE READER
Paper, Sepia and Night, or follow the iPhone appearance. Serif, sans or monospaced text. Text size and line spacing. Full screen clears everything but the words, a tap brings the controls back, and the place is kept between sessions. Mark a reading as finished when it is done.

A SMALL, CALM LIBRARY
Recents, Favorites and Collections, search by title, and a Recently removed list that holds a removed reading until it is restored or deleted for good.

NOTHING LEAVES THE IPHONE
No account, no sign-in, no sync. Readings never leave the iPhone, and Linger has no server to send them to. There is no analytics and no advertising. The only connection is Apple's own App Store, which handles the optional subscription. Readings are stored inside the app on this iPhone and in the device backups the owner already makes. Removing a reading, or deleting the app, removes them.

LINGER PRO
Linger keeps three saved readings at a time. Linger Pro is an optional subscription that removes that limit, so the library can hold as many readings as needed. Nothing else changes: every other feature works the same with or without it. If the subscription ends, every saved reading stays.

Linger was built for anyone who finds a long page hard to stay with — students working through course material, and readers who have ADHD or dyslexia. It is a reading aid, not a treatment, and it diagnoses nothing.

SUBSCRIPTION TERMS
Linger Pro is an auto-renewable subscription, available monthly (€4.99) or yearly (€38.99). Each includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Prices are shown in euros and may vary by country or region. Payment is charged to the Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or when the free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. Subscriptions can be managed and cancelled in the Apple Account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
