目を覚ますと、見知らぬ部屋に閉じ込められていた。出口を探すには、あたりを調べてアイテムを集め、それらを組み合わせて新しい道具を作り出すしかない。
■ 合成（A ＋ B ＝ C）で謎を解く
針金 ＋ 木の棒 ＝ 開錠ピック。ぼろ布 ＋ ランプ油 ＝ 油染み布。手に入れたカードを2枚組み合わせると、新しいアイテムが生まれます。作った道具を錠や仕掛けに使えば、隠された手がかりや次の部屋への扉が開く。何と何を掛け合わせるか、そのひらめきが脱出のカギ。
■ 全3部屋、それぞれ異なる仕掛け
・鉄錆の独房：松明を作り、暗い通気口に隠された鍵を探せ。
・灯火の書斎：磁石で金属を釣り上げ、二冊の本の数字から金庫の番号を導け。
・時計塔の最上階：歯車を回し、鉤縄を作って夜の街へ降りろ。
