MemU — Flashcard 2.0

MemU is the creator of Flashcard 2.0 — a new model of networked flashcards built around two dimensions of memory: time and connection.

Flashcard 1.0 asks:

“When should I see this again?”

Flashcard 2.0 also asks:

“What is this connected to?”

MemU keeps spaced repetition at the center of learning, then adds another dimension: connect a card to the dictionaries, books, movies, notes, and other knowledge around it.

- BRING YOUR EXISTING CARDS: Import Anki-compatible .apkg decks and start studying them directly in MemU. Create and study rich flashcards with text, cloze deletion, image occlusion, MathJax, images, audio, TTS, custom templates, and more. Compatible decks can also be exported to .apkg when needed.

- MOVIES AS SOURCES: Import movie subtitles, search for text, and connect matching subtitles and movie clips directly to a card. Keep the dialogue and scene around what you are learning instead of remembering an isolated word or sentence.

- =BOOKS AS SOURCES: Import ebooks and search their chapters and text. Connect a relevant passage to a card while keeping the book itself as the source of truth.

- DICTIONARIES AS SOURCES: Import electronic dictionaries and search them directly inside MemU. Connect definitions, pronunciations, examples, and reference information to the card you are learning while keeping the original dictionary entry as the source.

- YOUR OWN CARDS AS SOURCES: Your existing knowledge can become reusable context. Add a dictionary card template to a deck to make its notes searchable. Find useful content from the same deck or other collections and connect it to another card without copying or duplicating the original content. Your cards don't just store knowledge. They can become sources for other cards.

- PRONUNCIATION INSIDE YOUR FLASHCARDS: Don't just recognize an answer. Say it. Add pronunciation practice to a flashcard, speak during review, and receive pronunciation feedback at word and phoneme level. Turn passive recognition into active production without leaving your review session.

- NATURAL ONLINE TTS: Give your flashcards a voice with online text-to-speech. Listen to words, sentences, definitions, and examples directly while reviewing.
