MetaGear: Your Outdoor Pack

MetaGear is your personal outdoor base - a place to organize your gear, build pack lists, compare equipment, and create a shareable outdoor page that opens everywhere.

Made for backpackers, thru-hikers, ultralighters, campers, bikepackers, trail runners, mountaineers, and all outdoor enthusiasts.

BUILD YOUR OUTDOOR PROFILE
Create a personal outdoor page with your photo, bio, links, social accounts, gear lists, routes, images, notes, and customizable widgets.

Share one clean MetaGear link with friends, your community, or your followers. Your profile opens in any browser, so people do not need the app to view it.

FIND AND COMPARE OUTDOOR GEAR
Explore curated categories in Compare Hub.

Browse products from the MetaGear database, compare weight, price, specifications, and other parameters, and sort items to find options that better match your priorities.

You can also explore ready-made selections, including lightweight and category-specific gear picks.

USE SMART SEARCH
Start typing an item name and MetaGear will suggest matching products as you go.

For many items, MetaGear can automatically fill in useful details such as weight, price, and specifications. Every value remains editable, so your records can match the equipment you actually carry.

Less manual work. Faster list building. More control over the details that matter.

BUILD YOUR GEAR LOCKER
Keep all your equipment organized in one place.

Add items with weight, price, photos, links, notes, categories, and custom parameters. Store your shelter, sleep system, cook kit, clothing, electronics, tools, accessories, and other equipment in a personal gear library that is ready for every trip.

CREATE PACK LISTS
Build separate lists for weekend trips, long routes, different seasons, activities, and equipment setups.

Add items from your Gear Locker, organize them by category, sort your list, and mark gear as worn or consumable for more accurate weight calculations.

TRACK WEIGHT AND COSTS
MetaGear automatically calculates:
- Base weight
- Pack weight
- Total trailhead weight

Visual breakdowns help you understand where your weight comes from, identify heavy categories, compare setups, analyze costs, and make better tradeoffs before your next trip.

TURN LISTS INTO CHECKLISTS
Enable Checklist Mode to see what is ready, what is still missing, and what is already packed before you leave.

IMPORT FROM LIGHTERPACK
Already have a LighterPack setup?

Paste a public link or upload a CSV to import categories, items, quantities, weights, and worn or consumable settings without starting from scratch.

SHARE LISTS AND SETUPS
Publish clean gear lists that open in any browser, export lists as CSV, or create visual cards for social posts, Stories, forums, and gear shakedowns.

FREE CORE TOOLS, OPTIONAL PRO
Core tools remain free. MetaGear Pro is an optional subscription for people who want more profile widgets, shorter profile link, and a Pro badge. Choosing Pro also supports the continued development of an app.

Built by backpackers for everyone who loves the outdoors.
