MoBriefs

MoBriefs explains Mauritius in plain language: the economy, the Budget, tax, industries, events, places and public transport, in one free app. Every figure links to its official source.

BRIEFS
Short, sourced articles on the decisions that shape daily life: the Budget, fuel prices, pensions, road rules, the Chagos agreement and more. Each brief shows who gains and who pays, with charts that explain themselves and comparisons with countries that faced the same choice.

KPIs
Twenty-four indicators of the Mauritian economy (growth, inflation, unemployment, debt, the rupee and more), each with a five-year history, what moved it, and what it means for you. Compare Mauritius with its peers and, if you want, with major economies.

GOVERNANCE
A Public Spending Tracker that follows what the Government plans, spends and gets for it, with the auditor's findings; fact checks of what politicians from every party say; and a tracker of every policy reform: what the rule was, what changed, and where it stands.

COST OF LIVING
Inflation, fuel, electricity, gas and the rupee in one place, with what changed this year, plus a private tracker of your own income, spending and savings by day, week or month.

INDUSTRY
An overview of every industry's share of the economy and of jobs, and research briefs on financial services, tourism, ICT, manufacturing, agriculture, the blue economy, construction and real estate, energy, transport and trade, retail, and the arts.

TAX
Income tax bands, deductions, company tax, VAT, property duties and excise, step-by-step guides for employees, the self-employed, businesses and property owners, worked examples and a calculator. Every rule shows its effective date and when it was last checked.

EXPLORE
Concerts, festivals, sport, racing, nightlife and parties on one calendar, with age rules and ticket links. More than 130 places to eat, hike and visit. A bus and Metro planner covering the whole island.
