■ Conversation is the game
Talk to the guard, your cellmate, and the prison doctor, and pick your responses. Choices move trust up or down and unlock new clues and events. There's no single right answer — it's about the relationship you build.

■ Fill four bars to escape: cash, trust, clues, tunnel progress
Each prison sets its own escape requirements. Spend your days working, resting, and chipping away at a tunnel with a spoon, one small step at a time.

■ Ten prisons, new faces each time
Escape and you're transferred to the next prison. The guard and your cellmate stay with you, but the doctor and your other cellmate are a different person every time — ten escapes, ten new relationships.

■ Getting caught isn't the end
Fail an escape attempt and your suspicion ticks up a little — that's it. Getting caught is part of the story, not a game over.
